Domestic and commercial electrical services across Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. Based in Spaldwick, we work for homeowners and businesses, from a single socket to a full rewire. All work is carried out to BS 7671 wiring regulations. We are NAPIT registered (No. 33465) and a Registered Competent Person, so every job meets Part P of the Building Regulations as standard.
Jason has over 30 years’ experience working with electricity, including 13 years as a domestic electrician and 20 years in telecommunications. That background means he understands electrical systems in depth, not just the installation, but why things are done the way they are.
Electrical services we provide
We cover most domestic and light commercial electrical work, including:
- Consumer unit upgrades. Older fuse boards are often non-compliant and can be a fire risk. We upgrade to modern units with full RCD and RCBO protection, issued with an Electrical Installation Certificate.
- Full and partial rewires. Whether your property has old rubber-insulated cables, aluminium wiring, or simply needs updating after an extension or renovation, we carry out the work cleanly and to standard.
- EV charger installation. We install home EV charge points and can integrate them with solar and battery systems where needed. See our dedicated EV Charger page for more detail.
- Additional sockets and circuits. Kitchens, bathrooms, gardens, garages, extensions, wherever you need more capacity, we design and install to suit.
- Security and emergency lighting. Mains-powered security lighting, emergency escape lighting for businesses, and external lighting for homes and commercial premises.
- Underfloor and storage heating. Electric underfloor heating systems and storage heaters, particularly useful in properties without gas central heating.
- Data cabling. Cat5e and Cat6 structured cabling for home and office networks.
- Hot tub and garden power. Dedicated circuits, RCD protection and earthing for outdoor installations, done to the requirements of BS 7671 Part 7.
- New build and extension wiring. First and second fix electrical work for builders, developers and self-build projects.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
An EICR is a thorough inspection and test of your electrical installation. It checks the condition of wiring, earthing, bonding, protective devices and accessories, and identifies anything that does not meet current standards or presents a safety risk.
EICRs are now required by law for all rented properties in England, and are strongly recommended for any property over 25 years old, or where you are uncertain of the history of the electrical installation. We carry out EICRs for homeowners, landlords and letting agents across the area.
Part P and NAPIT registration
Part P of the Building Regulations requires that most electrical work in dwellings is either carried out or certified by a registered competent person. As a NAPIT-registered electrician, we self-certify our own work, which means you do not need to involve your local authority. You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate on completion, which you will need if you ever sell the property.
Some contractors bypass this, either because they are not registered, or to save time. We do not. Every notifiable job is certified and submitted to the scheme, and you receive your certificate within a few days of completion.
Our guarantee
We hold £2,000,000 of public liability insurance and offer a 6-year insurance-backed guarantee on our work. That guarantee travels with the property, so if you sell, the new owners inherit the protection. It is the kind of assurance you would expect from a contractor who plans to still be here in six years’ time, which we do.
Areas we cover
We cover Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, including Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, Ramsey, Brampton, Buckden, Alconbury, Ellington, Grafham, Bedford and Northampton. We are based in Spaldwick, so most of Huntingdonshire is on our doorstep.
