One Home. One System.

A modern air conditioning system heats and cools your home year-round, using the same heat pump technology as larger air source heating systems, but at a fraction of the cost and disruption. It is one of the most efficient ways to manage your home’s temperature in any season.

How a split system works

A split system has two units: one fitted inside the room and one mounted outside. The indoor unit draws warmth from the outside air and moves it into your home in winter. In summer, it runs in reverse, removing warm air from inside and releasing it outdoors. No combustion, no flue, no gas. Just electricity moving heat from one place to another.

That process is what makes these systems so efficient. A well-specified unit can generate 3 to 4 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity it uses. A traditional electric heater generates 1 unit for every 1 unit consumed. The difference in running costs is significant, particularly if you use the system through winter.

Heating and cooling, year-round

Most people still think of air conditioning as a summer luxury. In practice, a modern system works just as hard in winter. Many of our customers across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire now use their system as the primary heat source for the rooms they use most, running it alongside or instead of their central heating.

If you have a room that is difficult to heat, an extension, a home office, a garage conversion, or a space that overheats in summer, a split system is often the most practical and cost-effective fix.

The brands we install

We install systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Fujitsu. These are the same brands used in commercial buildings and high-specification domestic installations, chosen for their efficiency ratings, reliability and low noise levels.

Daikin offer up to 5 years’ parts and labour warranty when a system is registered after installation, which gives you long-term reassurance. We will walk you through the registration process on the day.

Single room or whole-house

We install a range of configurations depending on your property and how you want to use the system:

  • Single wall-mounted unit for one room or one problem area.
  • Multi-split systems with one outdoor unit serving several indoor units across different rooms.
  • Ceiling cassette units for open-plan spaces or rooms without a suitable external wall.

During a free site survey we will assess the rooms, look at building construction, identify the best locations for both units, and recommend the most suitable system for your budget. There is no obligation to proceed.

What installation involves

The process is straightforward and causes minimal disruption:

  1. Free site survey. We visit, assess the space, confirm pipework routes and any access considerations.
  2. Written quotation. Clear and itemised, with no hidden costs.
  3. Installation day. Most single-room installations are complete in one day. Multi-split systems may take two. We protect the work area throughout and make good on completion.
  4. Commissioning. We charge the system, test all operating modes, and walk you through the controls before we leave.

F-Gas regulations and qualified installation

Air conditioning systems use refrigerant gases covered by F-Gas regulations. Under UK law, only a qualified and registered engineer may install, maintain or repair these systems. It is not a job for a general builder or handyman, regardless of how straightforward it looks.

Jason holds City and Guilds 2079 F-Gas and 2081 Split A/C and Heat Pump Installation qualifications, and is a member of the British Refrigeration Association. All systems are installed and commissioned to manufacturer specification, with full documentation provided on completion.

Annual servicing

We recommend a service once a year to keep the system running at its best. During a service we clean the filters, check refrigerant levels and pressures, inspect electrical connections, and test every operating mode. A well-maintained system runs more quietly, uses less energy, and is far less likely to develop a fault mid-heatwave or mid-winter.

Servicing is also a condition of some manufacturer warranties, so it is worth building it into your routine from the start.

Areas we cover

We install and service air conditioning systems across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, including Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, Ramsey, Brampton, Buckden, Bedford, Northampton and the villages in between. Not sure if we cover your area? Call us and we will let you know.
